چکیده

Background: Optimum productivity of beef cattle is achieved with adequate feed supply, both in quality and quantity. Consumption local feedstuff Neptunia plena L. Benth Leersia hexandra Swartz as a ration by the animal subject expected to promote cost efficiency production, well provide essential nutrition needs. Therefore, this research aimed evaluate dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic (OMD), N-NH3 volatile fatty acid (VFA) cattle. Methods: Feed rumen inoculum samples were prepared analyzed for their proximate contents. There five treatment groups based on diet received cattle. In vitro approaches used determine DMD, OMD, N-NH3 VFA cattle. The was conducted Laboratory Feed Nutrient Science, Faculty Animal Husbandry Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The data using ANOVA at significance level 95%, Duncan Multiple Range Test. Results: results showed that highest DMD (P<0.05) derived from T5 (56.47%), followed T4 (56.45%) T3 (55.90%). T5=62.40% significantly generated OMD T4=61.95% T3=60.82%. This had value, namely 5.02 mM, compared T3=4.55 T4=4.50 T2=4.22 T1=3.99 mM. Furthermore, had T4, T3, T2, T1 with value 150.5, 133.0, 130.5, 130.0, 123.5 respectively. Conclusions: feedstuff-based contributed production.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different levels of aflatoxin on the gas production, in vitro fermentation parameters, dry matter and organic matter digestibility of sheep's diet. This experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replicate per treatment. The treatments included 1.diet without aflatoxin and methanol (control), 2.c...

The Effect of Soybean Meal Heating Time on the in vitro Digestibility and Ruminal Fermentation Profile

The aim of this study was to determine the most optimal heating time in protection of protein rich feedstuff on digestibility and in vitro ruminal fermentation profile. Proteinous feedstuffs used in this study is soybean meal (Glycine max). This study is designed using one way ANOVA, with five treatments of heating time (T0 (control)= unheated, T1= 10 min, T2= 20 min, T3= 30 m...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of diets containing different amounts of wheat, as a partial or whole substitute for corn, on digestibility, digestive enzyme activities, serum metabolite contents and ruminal fermentation in beef cattle. Four Limousin×LuXi crossbred cattle with a body weight (400±10 kg), fitted with permanent ruminal, proximal duodenal and terminal ileal c...

Influence of lasalocid level on forage intake, digestibility, ruminal fermentation, liquid flow and performance of beef cattle grazing winter range.

Three experiments were conducted to study the effects of lasalocid level on performance, intake, digestibility, ruminal fermentation and fluid flow of beef cattle grazing dormant, tallgrass prairie. In Exp. 1, 120 pregnant, mature beef cows of primarily Hereford breeding (avg wt = 471 kg) were randomly assigned to received 0, 100, 200 or 300 mg lasalocid X head-1 X d-1 in 1.82 kg supplement. We...

Effect of sward dry matter digestibility on methane production, ruminal fermentation, and microbial populations of zero-grazed beef cattle.

Increasing the digestibility of pasture for grazing ruminants has been proposed as a low-cost practical means of reducing ruminant CH(4) emissions. At high feed intake levels, the proportion of energy lost as CH(4) decreases as the digestibility of the diet increases. Therefore, improving forage digestibility may improve productivity as DM and energy intake are increased. A zero-grazing experim...
